The 32nd Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering has selected an original bronze, “Evening in the Bunkhouse,” by Steven E. Lillegard, award-winning bronze artist from Stanford, MT as it’s official 2017 logo. The beautiful dye cut collectible pin of “Evening in the Bunkhouse” sports an impression of Lillegard’s memorable work of art: a cowboy, strumming guitar with his faithful dog at his feet.
Wearers of the pin-pass will enjoy admission to over 50 hours of cowboy poetry and western music on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 18 and 19 at the Day Headquarters, Fergus High School. The pin also provides admission to the Jam ‘n Dance, Friday night at Pine Lodge (Elks Golf Club) and Cowboy Church Sunday morning at Celebration Community Fellowship Church.

August 2015 marked the 30th anniversary of Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Western Music Rendezvous! This landmark event was commemorated by publishing a 30th anniversary volume of original cowboy poetry selections and original song lyrics written by Montana Cowboy Poetry Gathering performers, past, present and deceased.
“A Rhyme Runs Through It,” the commemorative publication, produced by the Montana Cowboy Poetry board, is now available online. The book includes original cowboy poetry and song lyrics of over 80 performers who have participated in MT Cowboy Poetry over the last 30 years. Over 300 pages in length, with forward by Baxter Black, this book is a must-have for all Cowboy Poet enthusiast.
